Best Hip-Hop & Pop Culture Podcasts/ Shows Out There

This decade has definitely been the decade of the podcast, in terms of entertainment platforms surrounding pop culture in general and especially Hip-Hop. Going into the final year of this decade, we can expect for that trend to continue to grow in 2019, with many hot podcasts and ensemble shows emerging and gaining steam. Youtube has allowed for content creators the same freedom as Netflix has for Directors and Actors/Actresses. Youtube has essentially removed the need for big network backing in order to reach a large audience week in and week out. Popular content creators can now use Youtube as the direct conduit in reaching the audience, and with little to no influence or filter. The only thing Youtube wont allow in terms of censoring really is nudity, just about anything else will fly. This freedom has generated some really great podcasts and talk shows that tend to be more unique and eccentric than what we have become accustomed to finding on boring old network television. Between Youtube and Netflix, theres really very few reasons for someone to even fork over the money for cable or satellite tv. You can even watch live sports on Hulu these days, so the market for cable is just really shrinking. The big networks better get creative, or start letting the people they turned away who ended up Youtube stars get a foot in the door. Otherwise I cant imagine Cable being a major presence in most Millennial households at the end of the next decade. Here is my list of shows they may want to give a call to or emulate to the best of their ability:

Everyday Struggle with DJ Akademiks, Nadeska, & Wayno

DJ Vlad
Breakfast Club with Charlamagne Tha God, DJ Envy, & Angela Yee
Yanadameen Godcast (yes really, that is what it is called) with Lord Jamar & Rah Digga
No Jumper
